직장 폭력의 문제점은? | Department of Labor & Occupational Safety and Health Administration, 2004)에서는 모든 업무 관련 현장에서 폭력 위협으로부터 의료 종사자들을 보호하여야 할 책임이 있다고 규정하고 있으며 폭력을 대비하여 격리실을 설치하는 등의 조치들을 권고하고 있으나 우리나라에서는 직장 폭력을 통제하기 위한 제도적 기반이 없는 실정이다. 그러나 직장 폭력은 국가 단위에 심각한 문제를 일으키며, 직장 내에서 경제적 손실을 초래하고 기업 이미지에 손상을 주며 생산성 감소와 근무 의욕을 감소시키는 문제점을 낳는다(World Health Organization, 2002). 특히 간호사는 자신이 간호해 줘야 할 대상인 환자들에게 욕설이나 협박을 당하고, 멱살을 잡히거나 신체적인 폭력행위의 피해를 당하게 됨으로써 신체적 손상은 물론이고 좌절감, 우울, 분노, 공포, 외상 후 스트레스 장애 등의 정신적인 피해를 경험한다(Needham, Abderhalden, Halfens, Fischer, & Dassen, 2005). |
