치위생과 학생들의 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인

본 연구는 치위생과 학생들의 자아존중감, 학과 만족도, 진로 스트레스, 간이 정신 진단 검사를 시행하여 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인과 영향 관계를 파악함으로써, 치위생과 학생들이 안정적인 심리상태로 학교생활을 유지하기 위해서 효과적인 진로지도에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 2013년 3월에서 5월까지 편의표본추출법을 적용하여 부산과 울산의 4개 대학교의 치위생과 여학생들을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문조사를 실시하여 376부를 최종분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 정신건강에 영향력을 미치는 변수는 자아존중감이며 직접 효과가 있었다. 2. 자아존중감은 학과 만족도, 진로 스트레스, 정신건강에 영향을 미치며 직접 효과가 있었고, 진로 스트레스를 통해서 전달되는 간접효과도 있었다. 3. 학과 만족도는 진로 스트레스에 영향을 미치며 직접 효과가 있었지만, 학과 만족도와 진로 스트레스는 정신건강에는 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때 치위생과 학생이 안정적인 심리상태로 학교생활을 유지하기 위해서는 올바른 자신의 가치관을 확립하여 전공 및 진로에 대한 확신을 갖고 뚜렷한 목표와 계획을 수립하여 교육과정에 임하는 것이 가장 중요하다. 따라서 체계적인 진로탐색 프로그램의 운영, 전문적인 개인 및 집단 대상의 심리상담 기회 제공 등 학생들의 정서적 지원에 대한 적극적인 논의가 필요할 것으로 생각된다.
