  • 현대 의약학 분야 연구에서 본초학과 관계된 연구는 매우 광범위하게 진행되고 있는데 주로 단일약재 혹은, 단일약재 유래 추출물에 대한 연구를 들 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 자료들에 대한 한의학적 문헌연구 모델을 제시하고자 박하를 예시로 삼아 분석 문헌 연구를 진행해 보았다. 『본초학』에서 발산풍열약(發散風熱藥) 항목에 속하는 본초인 박하(薄荷), 우방자(牛蒡子), 상엽(桑葉), 국화(菊花), 갈근(葛根) 시호(柴胡) 및 승마(升麻)의 기원식물의 학명인 Mentha arvensis, Arctium lappa, Morus alba, Chrysanthemum indicum Pueraria thunbergiana, Bupleurum falcatum, Cimicifuga heracleifolia3)를 Pubmed를 통해 검색해보면, 2015년 7월 14일 기준으로 Arctium lappa가 219, Morus alba가 373, Chrysanthemum indicum이 99, Pueraria thunbergiana이 34, Bupleurum falcatum이 124, Cimicifuga heracleifolia이 18개의 논문이 있으며 Mentha arvensis로 검색해서 나온 박하 관련 논문은 89건이다.
  • 또한, 이러한 연구의 임상적 활용을 위하여 KCD(KOREAN STANDARD CLASSIFICATION OF DISEASES, 한국표준질병사인분류)에서 어떠한 상병명과 관련이 있는지 확인하였다. 이로서 박하에 대한 향후 연구방향을 모색하고, 본초학 교육에 활용할 수 있는 기초 자료로서 제시하고자 한다.
