옴니채널의 장점은 무엇인가? 옴니채널은 온 ·오프라인유통채널이서로의 단점을보완하는형태로 유기적으로 통합된 새로운 유통의 패러다임을 의미한다. 채널별로 수집 및 관리하는 고객 데이터를 통합하고 분석하여 최상의 고객 서비스 구조를 구축한다는 장점을 지니지만(Korea Research Institute for Fashion Industry Consortium [KRIFI Consortium], 2015; Lee & Son,2014), 실제 고객들이 옴니채널 서비스의 장점을 지각하고 기술을 사용하는데 불편함이 없는지 살펴볼 필요가 있다.
옴니채널이란 무엇인가? 옴니채널은 ‘모든, 모든 방식’을 뜻하는 접두사 ‘옴니(omni)’와 유통경로를 뜻하는 ‘채널(channel)’이 합쳐진용어로 백화점, 마트, 인터넷, 모바일 등 기업에서 별도로 영업하던 온 ·오프라인매장을유기적으로결합해 소비자가 언제 어디서든 쇼핑을 즐길 수 있도록 하는 쇼핑 체계이다(“옴니채널 쇼핑 [Omni-Channel shopping]”,2015). Rigby(2011)는 옴니채널 리테일링을 오프라인 매장만이 가지고 있는 장점과 온라인 쇼핑이 가지고 있는 풍부한 정보가 합쳐진 통합된 쇼핑 경험이라고 정의하였다.
