본 연구는 간호학생의 학업적 자기효능감, 비판적 사고성향과 문제해결능력의 정도와 그 관계를 확인하고, 문제해결능력에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상은 D시의 2학년 간호학생 404명으로, 구조화된 자가보고 형식의 설문지를 이용하여 2016년 5월 2일부터 20일까지 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 21을 이용하여 빈도와 백분율, ANOVA, t-test, Scheffe test, Person's 상관계수와 multiple stepwise regression로 분석하였다. 연구결과 간호학생의 학업적 자기효능감은 5점 만점에 평균 3.08(0.42)점, 비판적 사고성향은 평균 3.38점(0.38)점이었고 문제해결능력의 총점은 평균 102.42(13.50)점이었다. 학업적 자기효능감, 비판적 사고성향과 문제해결능력 간에는 유의한 상관관계가 나타났다. 학업적 자기효능감은 성별(t=4.53, p=.034), 학점(F=14.42, p<.001), 대인관계(F=8.25, p<.001)와 전공만족도(F=18.42, p<.001)에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 비판적 사고성향은 성별(t=8.07, p=.005), 학점(F=4.57, p=.011), 대인관계(F=8.82, p<.001) 및 전공만족도(F=13.16, p<.001)에서 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 문제해결능력은 학점(F=8.58, p<.001), 대인관계(F=6.63, p=.001)와 전공만족도(F=14.20, p<.001)에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 그리고 간호학생의 문제해결능력에 영향을 미치는 요인은 비판적 사고성향과 학업적 자기효능감의 순으로 나타났고, 설명력은 51.7%이었다. 따라서 간호학생의 문제해결능력을 증진시키기 위해 학업적 자기효능감과 비판적 사고성향의 향상을 위한 교육 프로그램과 전략을 개발하는 것이 필요하다.

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship among the variables and the influence of academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition on the problem solving ability of nursing students. A descriptive research design was employed in this study. The participants were 404 sophomore nursing students in D city, who were surveyed between May 2 and May 20, 2016, using self-report questionnaire. The data were analyzed with SPSS WIN 21.0 using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-test, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple stepwise regression analysis. Significant correlations among the academic self-efficacy, critical thinking disposition, and problem solving ability were found. In academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition, there were significant differences in gender, academic credit, interpersonal relationship, and satisfaction with nursing as a major. The problem solving ability showed statistically significant differences in academic credit, interpersonal relationships, and satisfaction with nursing as a major. The regression model explained 51.7% of the effect on the problem solving ability. Academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition were factors influencing the problem solving ability of nursing students. Based on these results, to increase problem solving ability of nursing students, it will be necessary to develop an educational program and strategy for improving the academic self-efficacy and critical thinking disposition.

본 연구대상은 D시 소재 3개 대학 간호학과에서 기본 간호학을 수강하는 2학년 학생으로 임의 표출하였고, 2016년 5월 2일부터 20일까지 자료를 수집하였다. 대상자의 윤리적 고려를 위해 자료는 연구에만 사용될 것과 비밀이 보장됨을 사전에 설명하였다.
95, 예측변수 10으로 산출한 결과 최소 172명이었다. 설문에 응답한 대상자는 총 433명으로 연구에 필요한 표본수보다 많았으나, 임의 표집된 표본 집단 내에서 계통적 오차를 최소화하기 위하여 응답이 불성실한 설문지 29부를 제외한 404부를 최종 분석에 사용하였다.

데이터처리

일반적 특성, 학업적 자기효능감, 자아 탄력성, 비판적 사고성향과 문제해결능력은 빈도, 백분율, 평균 및 표준편차로 분석하였다. 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 학업적 자기효능감, 자아탄력성, 비판적 사고 성향과 문제해결능력은 t-test와 ANOVA로 분석하고 사후검정은 Scheffe로 분석하였다. 각 변수들 간의 상관관계는 Pearson correlation coefficients를 이용하였으며 문제해결능력에 영향을 미치는 요인은 stepwise multiple regression을 실시하였다.

이론/모형

문제해결능력은 Heppner와 Petersen[24]의 Problem Solving Inventory(PSI)를 Chun[25]이 번역한 6점 척도 (‘전적으로 동의함’ 1점에서 ‘전혀 동의하지 않음’ 6점) 를 사용하였다. 문제해결자신감(11문항), 접근-회피 양식(16문항), 개인의 통제력(5문항)과 3개의 여과 문항으로 구성되어 있어 32문항을 분석에 사용하였다.
비판적 사고성향은 Yoon[6]이 개발한 7개 하위영역의 27문항으로 지적열정, 신중성, 자신감, 체계성, 지적 공정성, 건전한회의성, 객관성으로 구성되어 있다. 각 문항은 ‘전혀 그렇지 않다’ 1점에서 ‘매우 그렇다’ 5점의 Likert 척도이다.
학업적 자기효능감은 학습자가 주어진 학습과제를 성공적으로 달성하기 위해 과제 수행에 필요한 행동을 조직, 실행하고 조절하는 개인의 신념이다[14]. 학업적 자기효능감을 측정하기 위해 Kim과 Park[17]이 개발한 5점 척도의 28문항을 사용하였다. 하위영역은 자신감, 자기조절 효능감, 과제난이도 선호로 구성되어 있다.

성능/효과

연구결과 간호학생의 학업적 자기효능감, 비판적 사고성향과 문제해결능력은 보통 이상인 것으로 나타났으며, 변수들 간에는 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 문제해결능력은 학점, 대인관계와 전공만족도에따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 학점이 높을수록, 대인관계가 좋은 편이 보통인 경우보다, 전공에 만족하는 경우가 보통이거나 불만족하는 경우보다 문제해결능력이 높았다.
연구결과 간호학생의 학업적 자기효능감, 비판적 사고성향과 문제해결능력은 보통 이상인 것으로 나타났으며, 변수들 간에는 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 문제해결능력은 학점, 대인관계와 전공만족도에따라 유의한 차이가 있었다.
또한 본 연구대상자의 문제해결능력은 학점, 대인관계와 전공만족도에서 유의한 차이가 있었는데 학점이 높을수록, 대인관계가 좋은 편이 보통인 경우보다, 전공에 만족하는 경우가 보통이거나 불만족하는 경우보다 문제해결능력이 높았다. 이러한 결과는 학점이 높을수록[22], 대인관계가 좋고[21], 전공만족도가 높을수록 문제해결능력이 향상된다는 선행연구[19,21]와 유사한 결과이다.

후속연구

따라서 간호교육자는 복잡해진 간호 상황과 다양해진 대상자의 건강관리 요구에 간호학생들이 효과적으로 대처하고, 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 비판적 사고를 증진시키고, 학업적인 자기효능감을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육과정의 개발과 효과적인 교수전략을 개발하는 노력이 필요 하다.
본 연구는 일개 지역 2학년 간호학생을 편의 표출하여 연구하였기에 연구결과를 확대 해석하는 데에 제한이 있다. 추후 연구 대상자를 확대하여 연구를 반복할 필요가 있고, 간호학생의 문제해결능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 교수 전략 및 교육 프로그램 개발과 그 효과를 확인하는 연구가 지속되어야 할 것이다.

	학업적 자기효능감이 문제해결능력에 중요한 영향을 미친다고 할 수 있는 이유는 무엇인가?	학업적 자기효능감은 학습자가 주어진 학습과제를 성공적으로 달성하기 위하여 과제 수행에 필요한 행동을 조직, 실행하고 조절하는 개인의 신념을 의미한다[14]. 학업적 자기효능감은 학습자가 학습상황에 어려움이 있어도 인내를 가지고 과제를 완성하도록 유도하는 학습동기이고[15,16], 학업성취도를 예측하는 변인이 되며[12,16], 학습자의 지식과 수행을 연결시키는 중요한 요인이다[11,17]. 학업성취 수준이 높은 학생 들은 학업달성의 이유를 자신의 능력이나 노력 등의 학업적 자기효능감으로 보기 때문에 학업적 자기효능감은 학업성취에 미치는 영향이 높다고 할 수 있다[18].
