유아의 긍정적 또래 간 상호작용은 어떠한 효과가 있는가? | 많은 연구들이 유아의 긍정적 또래 간 상호작용이 유아의 사회성 발달 뿐 아니라 다른 발달영역에도 중요한 영향을 끼친다는 것을 뒷받침 해왔다. 즉, 유아기의 긍정적이며 풍부한 또래상호작용을 경험하는 유아들의 경우 사회정서 능력이 뛰어날 뿐만 아니라 대인관계 및 소통기술이 발달하였다(Jones, & Harcourt, 2013). 또한 언어 인지 능력의 향상과 유아기 이후의 학업 성취도 및 대인관계형성 등에서도 긍정적 발달이 나타났고 전반적인 학교 생활 만족도 및 사회적응에서도 부정적 상호작용을 경험한 유아들보다 만족스러운 발달을 보이는 것으로 나타났다(Nelson, Stage, Epstein, & Pierce, 2005; Ross & Lollis, 1989; Rubin, Bukowski, & Parker, 1998). 유아가 풍부한 또래간 상호작용을 통하여 사회적 관계를 인식하고 형성하며 지속적으로 유지해 나갈 수 있는 능력을 습득하는 것과 긍정적 방식으로 사회적 의견을 교환하는 기술을 발달시켜나가는 것은 유아기의 매우 중요한 과업이다(Bovey, & Strain, 2005; Han, 2012). |
