Methods: A measurement of the 2D:4D ratios of 101 South Korean medical students was performed, the QSCC-II and PSSC-2004 were used to diagnose the Sasang constitution, and MBTI testing was performed to classify the preference types. Results: In the relationship between the Sasang constitution and the 2D:4D ratios, a statistically significant difference is absent in the 2D:4D ratios of the group comprising both sexes in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin. A statistically significant difference is also lacking in the 2D:4D ratios of the male-only group in the order of Taeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin. The 2D:4D ratios are higher in the female group only, but again a statistically significant difference is absent. In the 2D:4D ratios according to the MBTI preference type, the 2D:4D ratios of the I, S, F, and P types are higher in the unisex group, but a significant difference is not evident. The 2D:4D ratios of the E, N, F, and P types are higher in the male-only group, but again a significant difference is not evident. In the female-only group, the mean of the 2D:4D ratios of the I, S, F, and P types is higher, but a significant difference is not identifiable. Conclusions: The Sasang constitution and the MBTI preference types did not show statistically significant differences regarding the 2D:4D ratios of the male, female, and unisex groups.

따라서 본 연구에서는 신체적 특징인 2D:4D 비율이 정신적인 특징을 포함하는 사상체질 및 MBTI 성격유형과 어떠한 관련이 있는지를 살펴보고, 이를 통해서 2D:4D 비율을 사상체질 진단 및 성격유형 감별의 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있는지 알아보고자 연구를 시행하였다.
제안 방법
2D:4D 비율과 사상체질, MBTI 성격 유형과의 관계를 살펴보기 위하여 세명대학교 한의대생을 대상으로 2D:4D 비율을 측정하고 설문조사를 실시한 자료를 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. ;
기존에는 2D:4D 비율과 단편적인 성격 특성들을 비교하는 연구들이 주로 이루어졌으나13,14) 본 연구에서는 2D:4D 비율과 사상체질 및 MBTI 선호유형을 비교하여 2D:4D 비율과 정신 심리적인 특성과의 상호관계를 알아보기 위해 연구를 진행하였다.
대상 데이터
2014년 6월부터 2015년도 6월까지 해당년도의 세명대학교 한의과대학 본과 4학년 재학생 102명 중에서 연구 참여에 동의하고 동의서에 서명한 101명을 대상으로 2D:4D 비율을 측정하고 MBTI 검사 및 사상체질 진단을 시행하였다. 세명대학교의 IRB승인(승인번호: SMU-2015-05-004)을 받고 IRB 절차에 따라 연구를 시행하였다.
데이터처리

이론/모형
사상체질 진단은 두 단계로 이루어졌다. 먼저 객관적인 검사인 QSCC216)와 PSSC-200417)를 시행하여 1차 체질진단을 내린 후 사상체질 전문가가 대상자와의 개별 진료를 통하여 2차 체질진단을 하였다. QSCC는 1993년 경희대학교에서 개발된 사상체질 진단을 위한 설문지로 총 121문항으로 구성되어 있으며 표준화 및 타당성 연구가 이루어진 도구이다.
MBTI는 1941년 Myers & Briggs가 창안한 성격 유형 검사이다. 본 연구에서는 김정택과 심혜숙(1990)에 의해 표준화된 한국어판 MBTI-GS 검사지22)를 사용하였다. 검사지는 신뢰도와 타당도가 검증되었으며 총 95문항으로 구성되어있다.

2. 본 연구에서는 2D:4D 측정 방법으로 사진 복사 측정법을 사용하여 오른손의 비율만을 측정하였다. 기존 연구에서 이루어져 온 방식인 만큼 중대한 문제점은 아니지만 Lippa의 연구14)에서는 오른손, 왼손 중에서 더 잘 쓰는 손이 무엇인지에 따라 해석이 달라질 수 있다고 하였다.
또한, 연구 대상자가 총 101명으로 MBTI 선호유형 분류에서 각 선호유형마다 대상자수가 충분하지 않았을 가능성이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에 관련하여 다수의 일반인 집단을 대상으로 한 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다. ;
