Of these, 12 studies were in the form of case reports, while one was in the form of a non-randomized controlled trial. These studies showed positive results for the use of Oriental medicine in terms of the Korean version of the Western Aphasia Battery (K-WAB), the evaluation form on functional performance capability and accuracy of articulatory organs developed by Lee, aphasia screening test refered in 'Assessment in Speech-Language Pathology' and adapted properly to Korean, the Communicative Ability in Daily Living Test (CADLT), the Korean Version-Boston Naming Test (K-BNT), and language assessment items included in CNS, and NIHSS. Conclusions: Of the 12 case reports, 11 studies showed positive results of the use of Oriental medicine for treatment of aphasia after cerebrovascular disease. 이상 국내 데이터베이스 중심으로 실어증에 대해 한의학적 치료를 시행한 임상 논문들을 분석했으며 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다.
대상 데이터
1. 검색 기준에 적합한 13개의 논문을 연구대상으로 하였고, 각각의 논문유형은 12편(92.3%)은 증례보고, 1편(7.7%)은 비무작위 배정 대조군 연구였다.

또한 초기 검색시 국내 연구의 최근 동향을 파악하기 위하여 2000년 이후 발표된 논문으로 제한했고 그 결과 총 18편의 논문이 검색되었고, 이 중 한방치료를 시행했다고 언급만 되어있을 뿐 구체적인 한방 치료법이 명시되지 않은 ‘권' 등5의 논문 1편, 실어증이 아닌 ‘무동무언증'에 관해 연구한 ‘홍' 등6의 논문 1편, 뇌졸중 후유증으로 발생한 것이 아닌 실어증에 대한 ‘송'7, ‘한'8, ‘경'9 등의 논문 3편을 배제하여 연구대상 논문은 총 13편으로 제한하였다.

현존하는 논문도 1-2례의 증례보고가 대부분이라 앞으로는 실어증에 관한 활발한 연구 및 RCT 등의 보다 수준 높은 임상연구들이 계속해서 진행 되어야 할 것으로 보인다.
