건설산업에서 안전사고 예방을 위하여 많은 연구들이 진행되어 왔으나 안전사고의 숫자는 줄지 않고 있다. 이에 최근 많은 연구에서 관리자나 작업자의 개인적인 특성과 행동에서 기인하는 원인들을 분석하고, 이를 제거하고자 하였다. 그러나 기존 연구의 노력에도 불구하고 관리자나 작업자는 안전사고의 발생이 서로에게 책임이 있다고 전가하는 인식이 있어 지속적으로 안전사고가 발생하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 안전사고 예방을 위하여 관리자와 작업자의 책임전가의식을 분석하고, 책임전가의식에 영향을 미치는 영향요인들과의 상관성을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 실제 현장에 근무하고 있는 관리자와 작업자에게 설문조사를 실시하여 책임전가의식 수준을 정량적으로 제안하였다. 특히, 관리자는 작업자에게, 작업자는 관리자에게 책임을 전가하고자 하는 영향이 있음을 입증하였다. 추가적으로 책임전가의식과 이에 영향을 미치는 요인들(Job stress, Accident experience, Safe knowledge, Optimistic bias)과의 상관성이 있음을 입증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 관리자와 작업자의 안전의식 향상과 건설안전 분야의 연구적, 실무적인 측면에서 기여를 할 것으로 기대한다.
