본 연구의 목적은 남자 대학생들의 스포츠토토 도박을 통해 겪게 되는 경험과 그들이 당면하고 있는 문제를 파악하여 남자 대학생 도박중독의 예방 및 회복 프로그램에 기초자료를 제공하고자 시도하였다. 본연구의 참여자들은 8명의 남자 대학생으로 심층 인터뷰 한 자료를 Colaizzi의 현상학적 연구방법에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과 경험의 범주는 4개로 바다로 달려가는 바람처럼, 회한으로 흐르는 눈물, 수면 아래로 잠긴 삶, 꿈을 꾸는 날엔 으로 도출되었다. 본 연구를 통해 스포츠토토는 접근성이 용이하고 흥미 유발적인 요소가 많지만, 일반 도박자들과 마찬가지로 자기 통제력을 상실한 채 중독에 빠질 위험이 크다는 것이 드러났다. 그렇지만 도박 기간이 짧은 대학생이 경제적 자금 조달의 한계점으로 현실을 자각할 경우 도박중독 위험으로부터 비교적 빠르게 격리될 수 있다고 본다. 따라서 스포츠를 좋아하는 대학생들을 위한 도박 예방교육과 상담이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the experiences of male college students through sport toto gambling and to provide basic data on the prevention program for male college gambling addicts. Participants in the study were eight male college students who were interviewed in depth and analyzed according to Colaizzi's phenomenological study method. As a result of this study, four categories of experiences were derived as follows: Like the wind that rushes to the sea, Tears of remorse, A locked down life and On a dream day. Research shows that sports toto is easy to access and has a lot of interesting factors, however it has been found out that male college students have a great risk of falling into addiction aiming to win at once like ordinary gamblers. Therefore, this study suggests that gambling preventive education and counseling are necessary for male college students who like sports.

	스포츠 토토가 도박중독 위험성을 갖는 이유는 무엇인가?	스포츠토토가 합법적 이라는 인식으로 가볍게 시작하나 다양한 온라인 채널로 불법 도박사이트의 유혹과 권유로 인해 특별한 죄의식 없이 불법 스포츠 도박의 영역으로 빠져들고 있다. 즉 스포츠토토의 성격은 건전한 우연 놀이와 도박 사이에 위치하며 언제나 불법 도박으로 빠질 위험성이 내재 되어 있으며, 스포츠를 좋아하는 순진한 대학생들은 쉽게 발을 들여놓게 된다. 일단 중독되면 개인의 일상생활에 지장을 초래함은 물론, 가족과의 갈등으로 인한 가정 파탄을 초래하며, 실직, 개인파산, 우울, 자살 등의 사회적 부작용으로 이어질 수 있다[10].
	대학생이 도박중독 위험으로부터 상대적으로 빠르게 격리될 수 있는 상황은 무엇인가?	본 연구를 통해 스포츠토토는 접근성이 용이하고 흥미 유발적인 요소가 많지만, 일반 도박자들과 마찬가지로 자기 통제력을 상실한 채 중독에 빠질 위험이 크다는 것이 드러났다. 그렇지만 도박 기간이 짧은 대학생이 경제적 자금 조달의 한계점으로 현실을 자각할 경우 도박중독 위험으로부터 비교적 빠르게 격리될 수 있다고 본다. 따라서 스포츠를 좋아하는 대학생들을 위한 도박 예방교육과 상담이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.
