본 연구는 간호대학생의 비판적 사고와 문제해결 능력 간의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과를 확인하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 2019년 9월 20일 부터 9월 30일까지 G시 소재의 일 대학 간호학과에 재학 중인 247명을 대상으로 구조화된 설문지를 통하여 일반적 특성, 비판적 사고, 문제해결 능력 및 셀프리더십을 조사하였다. 통계처리는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 이용하여 서술적 통계, 분산분석 및 다중회귀분석을 하였으며, 비판적 사고와 문제해결 능력과의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과는 Baron과 Kenny의 3단계 절차를 이용한 위계적 회귀분석으로 검증하였다. 문제해결 능력은 비판적사고(r=.48, p<.001), 셀프리더십(r=.73 p<.001)과 양의 상관관계가 있었고, 비판적 사고는 셀프리더십(r=.70, p<.001)과 양의 상관관계가 있었다. 또한 비판적 사고와 문제해결 능력과의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 부분매개 효과(β=.47, p<.001)가 있는 것으로 나타났다(Sobel test: Z=6.64, p<.001). 따라서 간호대학생의 문제해결 능력을 향상시키기 위해서는 셀프리더십의 강화가 필요하며 이를 위해 정규 교육과정과 교과 외 활동 프로그램을 통한 다양한 전략이 마련되어야 하겠다.

This descriptive research study investigated the mediating effect of self-leadership on the relationship between critical thinking and problem solving ability of nursing university students. The data were collected from nursing university students in G city. Korea, from 20 Sep. 2019 through 30 Sep. 2019. General characteristics, critical thinking, problem solving ability and self-leadership were surveyed using structured questionnaires. Statistical analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 21.0. The mediating effect of self-leadership on the relationship between critical thinking and problem solving ability was tested using Baron & Kenny's 3-step hierarchical regression analysis. There were positive correlations between problem solving ability and critical thinking(r=.48, p<.001), between problem solving ability and self-leadership(r=.73, p<.001) and between critical thinking and self-leadership(r=.70, p<.001). In addition, self-leadership had a partial mediating effect(Z=6.64 p<.001) on the relationship between critical thinking and problem-solving ability. Therefore, strengthening of self-leadership is necessary to improve the problem-solving ability of nursing university students. Various strategies through regular education courses and extracurricular activities should be prepared for this purpose.

본 연구의 자료수집 방법은 연구대상자의 윤리적 측면을 고려하여 연구 참여 전, 연구자가 직접 구두 및 서면으로 연구목적 및 방법을 설명하고 자발적인 동의를 받은 후, 연구 참여를 수락한 대상자에게 설문지를 배부하였고, 설문지 응답을 마친 후 응답자가 회수용 봉투에 직접 넣어 별도의 설문지 수거함에 제출하도록 하였다. 또 한 본인이 원하는 경우, 언제든지 철회할 수 있고, 철회 시 어떤 불이익도 없음을 설명 후 연구목적 이외에는 사용하지 않는 다는 점과 연구에 사용된 개인정보에 관한 비밀이 보장됨을 설명문에 기술하였다.
일반적인 특성은 성별, 학년, 성적, 전공 만족도 및 성격으로 총 5문항으로 구성되어있다.

대상 데이터

본 연구의 대상자는 G시에 위치한 U대학교 간호학과에 재학 중인 학생들로 본 연구의 목적을 이해하고 설문 참여에 서면 동의한 간호학생 250명중 응답이 미비한 자료를 제외한 247명의 자료를 최종분석에 사용하였다. 대상자수는 G* power 3.

데이터처리

이론/모형

문제해결능력은 Lee 등[22]이 개발한 생애 능력 측정 도구 중 대학생/성인용 문제해결 능력 진단지를 사용하 였다. 본 도구는 9개 하위영역인 ‘문제 인식’ 5문항, ‘정보 수집’ 5문항, ‘분석능력’ 5문항, ‘확산적 사고’ 5문항, ‘의사결정’ 5문항, ‘기획력’ 5문항, ‘실행과 모험 감수’ 5문항, ‘평가’ 5문항, ‘피드백’ 5문항 등 총 45문항으로 구성되어 있으며 각 문항은 ‘매우 드물게’ 1점부터 ‘매우 자주’ 5점 까지의 5점 Likert 척도이다.
비판적 사고능력은 Yoon[21]이 간호학생을 대상으로 개발한 비판적 사고능력 도구로 지적 열정/호기심 5문항, 신중성 4문항, 자신감 4문항, 체계성 3문항, 지적 공 정성 4문항, 건전한 회의성 4문항, 객관성 3문항의 총 27문항으로 구성되어있으며 각 문항들은 ‘전혀 그렇지 않다’ 1점부터 ‘매우 그렇다’ 5점까지의 5점 Likert척도 이다. 가능한 점수 범위는 27점에서 135점까지이며 점 수가 높을수록 비판적 사고 능력이 높음을 의미한다.
셀프리더십은 Houghton과 Neck[23]이 미국 대학생을 대상으로 개발한 셀프리더십 척도(Revised Self-Leadership Questionnaire; RSLQ)를 Shin, Kim과 Han[24]이 우리나라 대학생을 대상으로 수정 보완한 도구를 사용하였다. 본 도구는 ‘자기 목표설정 ’5문 항, ‘자기보상’ 3문항, ‘자기처벌’ 4문항, ‘자기관찰’ 4문항, ‘자기단서’ 2문항, 으로 구성된 행동 중심적 전략과 ‘성공 적인 수행상상하기’ 5문항, ‘자기대화’ 3문항, ‘신념과 가 정 분석’ 4문항으로 구성된 건설적 사고 전략 및 자연적 보상전략 5문항 등 3개 전략의 9개 하부요인으로 구성된 총 35문항이다.

성능/효과

대상자의 비판적 사고와 문제해결능력과의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과를 검정한 결과, 셀프리더십의 부분 매개효과가 확인되었다. 이는 선행연구가 없어 직접적 인 비교는 어려우나 비판적 사고 성향과 진로준비 행동 의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과가 있다고 보고한 Moon[39]의 연구와 자아 탄력성과 비판적 사고 성향 간 에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과를 본 Kim[40]의 연구와 같 은 맥락으로 셀프리더십은 명확한 목표를 설정하고 그 목표에 도달하기 위한 노력과 열정을 동반하므로[41] 창의적인 사고와 문제를 발견하고 이해, 평가하는데 중요한 역할을 하는 비판적 사고 성향과 복잡한 간호 문제를 해결할 수 있는 역량을 강화하게 됨[42]을 알 수 있다.
본 연구는 간호대학생의 비판적 사고, 셀프리더십, 문제해결능력 정도를 파악해보고 비판적 사고와 문제해결능력과의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 매개효과를 파악하기 위해 시도되었다. 본 연구결과 비판적 사고와 문제해결능력과의 관계에서 셀프리더십이 부분 매개 함을 (Z=6.64, p<.001) 확인할 수 있었다.
본 연구에서 문제해결 능력은 비판적 사고, 셀프리더십과 양의 상관관계를 나타내어 선행연구들[12,20,38]과 일치하여 비판적 사고와 셀프리더십이 높을수록 문제해 결 능력이 높아짐을 알 수 있다.

후속연구

둘째, 간호대학생의 문제해결능력 향상을 위하여 셀프 리더십 향상에 초점을 둔 다양한 교수법과 교과 외 프로그램의 적용 및 그 효과 검증 연구를 제언한다.
첫째, 본 연구가 일개 대학교 간호대학생을 대상으로 하였다는 점을 고려할 때 연구결과를 국내의 간호대학생 에게 일반화하기에는 제한점이 있음으로 추후 연구에서는 다양한 지역의 간호대학생을 대상으로 비교하는 반복 연구를 제언한다.

	문제해결 능력과 연관되는 사고는 무엇인가?	문제해결 능력과 연관되는 것으로 비판적 사고를 들 수 있다. 비판적 사고란 전문적인 업무에서 문제해결과정, 의사결정을 이끌어내기 위한 동기나 바람으로[5] 비판적 사고성향을 가진 간호대학생이 창의적이고 혁신적인 수행결과를 나타낸다는 연구결과[6]와 같이 지속적인 문제해결과 의사결정이 요구되는 임상에서 간호사가 업무를 성공적으로 수행하기 위해서는 반드시 요구되는 능력이다.
