Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the influences of nursing professionalism and emotional intelligence on the clinical performance ability of nursing students. Methods: The subjects of this study included 234 nursing students from three universities located in two regions of South Korea. Data were collected from June 15 to 30, 2018 by using self-reported questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis using the IBM SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The factors which influenced the clinical performance ability in nursing students were self-concept of the profession(β=.28, p<.001), roles of nursing service (β=.22, p<.001), use of emotion (β=.22, p<.001), self-emotional appraisal (β=.18, p=.002), regulation of emotion (β=.16, p=.004), and grade (β=.16, p=.002) which explained 51.7% of the variance. Conclusions: These results suggest that to improve clinical performance ability in nursing students, an intervention that enhances their nursing professionalism and emotional intelligence should be considered.

이에 본 연구는 간호대학생의 간호전문직관, 감성지능 및 임상수행능력 간의 관계를 파악하고 간호대학생의 임상수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석함으로써 향후 이를 바탕으로 간호대학생의 임상수행능력을 향상시키는데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.
제안 방법
본 연구는 D대학교 기관생명윤리심의위원회(**IRB-2018-0016)의 승인을 받은 후 2018년 6월 15일부터 30일까지 D시와 K도에 소재한 3개의 간호대학에 연구자가 직접 방문하여 간호학과장에게 본 연구의 목적과 취지에 대해 설명하고 연구수행에 대한 협조와 허락을 구한 후 수행되었다. 연구자가 직접 연구 대상 학교를 방문하여 대상자에게 연구의 목적과 내용 및 절차, 참여의 자발성, 정보의 비밀유지, 연구에 참여함으로써 얻을 수 있는 이점과 문제점 등에 대해 설명하고, 자발적으로 연구 참여에 서면으로 동의한 자에 한하여 자가 보고식 설문지를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 또한 연구에 참여하기를 원하지 않을 때에는 즉각적으로 연구에 대한 동의를 철회할 수 있으며 이에 대해 어떠한 불이익도 없을 것임을 설명한 후 설문 조사를 진행하였다.
대상 데이터
95, 예측변인의 수를 14개로 설정하였을 때 회귀분석에 필요한 최소 표본수로 194명이 산출되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 탈락률 20%를 고려하여 241부의 설문지를 배부하였고, 불충분한 응답이 포함된 7부를 제외한 234부를 최종 통계 분석에 이용하였다. 본 연구는 D대학교 기관생명윤리심의위원회(**IRB-2018-0016)의 승인을 받은 후 2018년 6월 15일부터 30일까지 D시와 K도에 소재한 3개의 간호대학에 연구자가 직접 방문하여 간호학과장에게 본 연구의 목적과 취지에 대해 설명하고 연구수행에 대한 협조와 허락을 구한 후 수행되었다.
본 연구의 대상자는 D광역시와 K도에 소재한 4년제 간호대학에 재학 중이며 임상실습경험이 한 학기 이상인 3, 4학년 간호대학생 중 연구의 목적과 취지에 대한 설명을 이해하고 이에 자발적으로 연구에 참여하기로 서면 동의한 자이다. 연구 대상자 수는 G*Power 3.
데이터처리
1) 간호대학생의 일반적 특성과 전공관련 특성은 빈도, 백분율, 평균 및 표준편차로 분석하였다.
2) 간호대학생의 간호전문직관, 감성지능 및 임상수행능력 정도는 평균과 표준편차, 최소값 및 최대값으로 산출하였다.
3) 간호대학생의 일반적 특성과 전공관련 특성에 따른 간호전문직관, 감성지능 및 임상수행능력의 차이는 independent t-test와 one-way ANOVA로 분석하였고, 사후 검정으로 Scheffé test를 실시하였다.
이론/모형
임상수행능력은 임상상황에서 적절한 지식, 판단 및 기술을 보여주고 유능하게 기능할 수 있는 능력을 말한다[18]. 측정도구는 Lee et al.[18]이 개발한 임상수행능력 측정도구를 Kang & Jeon[19]이 간호대학생에게 측정하기 용이하도록 수정·보완한 도구를 이용하여 측정하였다. 본 도구는 간호과정(8문항), 간호기술(12문항), 교육 및 협력관계(5문항), 대인관계 및 의사소통(3문항), 전문직 발전(8문항)의 5개의 하위 영역으로 구성되어 있으며 총 36문항의 항목으로 이루어져 있다.
감성지능은 자기 자신은 물론 주위의 다른 사람들의 감성을 정확하게 이해하고, 자신의 감성을 조절하고 활용할 줄 아는 능력을 의미한다[13]. 측정도구는 Wong & Law[13]가 개발한 Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS)을 Hwang[17]이 번안한 감성지능 척도를 이용하여 측정하였다. 본 도구는 자기감성이해(4문항), 타인감성이해(4문항), 감성조절(4문항), 감성활용(4문항)의 4개의 하위 영역인 총 16문항으로 구성되어 있다.
간호전문직관은 전문직으로서의 간호와 간호사에 대한 신념, 관념 및 이상의 총합으로 간호에 대한 체계화된 견해와 간호를 담당하는 자의 간호활동 과정이나 그 직분 자체에 대한 직업의식적인 견해를 말한다[9]. 측정도구는 Yeun et al.[9]이 간호사를 대상으로 개발한 간호전문직관 측정도구 29문항을 Han et al.[16]이 간호대학생에게 적합하도록 18문항으로 수정·보완한 도구로 측정하였다. 본 도구는 전문직 자아개념(6문항), 사회적 인식(5문항), 간호의 전문성(3문항), 간호실무 역할(2문항),간호의 독자성(2문항)의 5개 하위 영역으로 구성된 총 18문항의 자가보고형 설문이다.
성능/효과
간호학과의 신설 및 증원과 동시에 간호사의 높은 이직율과 특히 신규 간호사의 조기 이직 및 이탈은 미래지향적인 간호인재 양성을 책임진 간호교육현장의 큰 고민이다. 본 연구 결과, 간호대학생의 임상수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 간호전문직관의 하위 영역 중 전문직 자아개념 및 간호실무 역할, 감성지능의 하위 영역 중 감성활용, 자기감성이해 및 감성조절, 학년으로 나타났으며, 이들 변수는 대상자의 임상수행능력을 51.7% 설명하였다. 본 연구는 간호전문직관 및 감성지능의 개념을 활용하여 전공 관련 특성 및 개인의 내적 특성이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향력 정도를 파악하고 그 관계를 검정하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 간호대학생의 임상수행능력 향상을 위한 교육 및 중재 개발의 기초자료로 활용함으로써 향후 간호실무 현장에서의 적응력을 높여 줄 것으로 기대한다.
