The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderating mediation effect of resilience, on the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-efficacy in career decision-making of nursing students. The participants were 136 nursing college students in the Jeonbuk region. Data was collected in September 2020 via a structured questionnaire survey. The data was analyzed using the SPSS/23.0 program. The analysis used descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, multiple regression analysis, and Sobel's tests. The results showed that emotional intelligence was a circle activity (F=3.13, p=.047), and motivation to nursing (F=4.16, p=.008). Resilience was a circle activity (F=5.50, p=.005), and nursing major satisfaction (t=2.19, p=.031). Career decision-making self-efficacy showed significant differences in grade (F=3.12, p=.048) and major satisfaction (t=2.36, p=.020). Emotional intelligence and resilience (r=.63, p<.001), emotional intelligence and career decision-making self-efficacy (r=.67, p<.001), resilience and career decision-making self-efficacy (r=.76, p<.001) showed significant static correlation. In emotional intelligence and career decision-making self-efficacy, resilience had a partial mediating effect (Z=6.48, p<.001), and explanatory power was 62.2%. Based on the results of this study, to improve the emotional intelligence and career decision-making self-efficacy of nursing students, it is necessary to develop a personalized and resilience-enhanced education program.

데이터처리

연구대상자의 감성지수, 회복탄력성, 진로결정자기효능감간의 상관관계를 파악하기 위하여 Pearson correlation coefficients를 산출하였다. 대상자가 지각한 감성지수와 진로결정자기효능감간의 관계에서 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 검정하기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 매개효과 크기는 Baron-Kenny(1986)의 절차[34]를 이용하였고, Sobel-test로 매개효과의 유의성을 검정하였다.

이론/모형

감성지수는 Wong & Law[14]가 개발한 측정도구로 Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS)을 정현우(2007)가 번안한 도구를 사용하였다[30].
도날드 리비리(Donald Reivich)와 카렌 샤트(Karen Shatte)가 개발하고 김주환이 번안한 ‘한국형 회복 탄력성 지수(Korean Resilience Quotient: KRQ-53)’에서 김주환, 김민규, 신우열(2009)이 번역이 어색하거나 잘못된 것들을 수정하여 한국의 중·고등학생 및 대학생을 대상으로 타당화 한[31] 회복탄력성 척도(YKRQ-27)를 사용하였다.
대상자가 지각한 감성지수와 진로결정자기효능감간의 관계에서 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 검정하기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 매개효과 크기는 Baron-Kenny(1986)의 절차[34]를 이용하였고, Sobel-test로 매개효과의 유의성을 검정하였다.
진로결정 자기효능감은 Taylor와 Betz(1983)가 개발한 측정도구로[32] CDMSES(Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy Scale)의 50문항을 Betz, Klein, 그리고 Talyor(1996)가 5가지 하위 요인별로 5문항씩 선정, 구성한 단축형 CDMSESSF(Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form)를 이기학과 이학주(2000)가 타당화[33]하여 만든 것을 사용하였다. 본 도구는 총 25문항으로 직업정보수집, 목표설정, 계획수립, 문제해결, 자기평가 등 5가지의 하위요인으로 구성되어 있고 총 25문항이다.

성능/효과

1단계에서의 분석결과 감성지수가 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과 감성지수는 매개변수인 회복탄력성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고(β=.646 p<.001), 설명력은 41.2%였다.
2단계의 분석결과, 독립변수인 감성지수가 종속변수 진로 결정자기효능감에 유의한 영향을 미쳤고(β=.63, p<.001), 설명력은 38.6%였다.
3단계의 분석결과 감성지수와 매개변수인 회복탄력성을 함께 독립변수로 진로결정자기효능감을 종속변수로 투입한 결과 감성지수(β=.23, p<.001), 회복탄력성(β=.61, p<.001)이 진로결정자기효능감에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
연구대상자의 감성지수가 진로결정자기효능감에 미치는 영향에서 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 확인하고자 회귀 분석을 시행하기에 앞서 회귀분석의 가정충족 여부를 확인하였다. Durbin-Watson 통계량이 1.78~2.12로 2에 가까워 자기 상관이 없는 것으로 확인되었고, 오차의 공차 한계는 0.58~1.00으로 0.1 이상이고 분산팽창계수(VIF) 1.11~1.89로 10보다 작아 다중공선선의 문제가 없어서 회귀분석에 적합한 모형임을 확인하였다.
간호대학생들이 지각하는 감성지수, 회복탄력성 및 진로결정자기효능감의 관계를 살펴보면, 각각 변인 간 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 감성지수는 진로결정자기효능감과 양(+)의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났는데 이는 간호대학생을 대상으로 한 선행연구결과와 유사하였다[26].
간호대학생의 감성지수가 진로결정자기효능감에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 회복탄력성은 매개역할을 하였다. 이를 통해 감성지수를 높인다 하더라도 회복탄력성의 수준이 높은 간호대학생의 경우 진로결정자기효능감이 증가하는 것을 확인하였다.
연구대상자의 감성지수, 회복탄력성 및 진로결정자기 효능감 정도는 다음과 같다. 감성지수는 7점 만점에 평균 평점 4.78점, 회복탄력성은 5점 만점에 3.65점, 진로결정자기효능감 정도는 5점 만점에 3.52점으로 나타났다 [Table 2].

둘째, 감성지수가 진로결정자기효능감에 미치는 영향에서 회복탄력성이 중요한 매개변수로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 회복탄력성은 감성지수와 진로결정자기효능감 간의 관계에서 부분 매개역할을 하므로, 간호대학생의 진로결정자기효능감을 향상시키는 회복탄력성을 고려 하여 진로결정과 관련된 의사결정에서 필요한 과업들을 성공적으로 수행할 수 있도록 능력을 증진시키는 것이 필요하다.
본 연구에서 간호대학생이 지각한 감성지수와 진로결정자기효능감에서 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 확인한 결과 부분 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 감성지수를 높게 인식하고 회복탄력성이 증가되어 있는 간호대학생은 진로결정자기효능감 정도가 높다고 볼 수 있다.
연구대상자의 감성지수, 회복탄력성과 진로결정자기효능감의 관계를 살펴본 결과 감성지수는 회복탄력성(r=.63, p<.001)과 진로결정자기효능감(r=.67, p<.001) 간에 양의 상관관계를 나타냈고, 회복탄력성과 진로결정자기효능감도(r=.76, p<.001) 양의 상관관계가 나타났다[Table 3].

24점 보다는 다소 높은 점수를 나타내었다. 진로결정 자기효능감에 대한 하부요인별로 보면 자기평가 진로결정자기효능감이 3.61점으로 가장 높았고, 계획수립 및 문제 해결 진로결정자기효능감 부분이 3.47점으로 가장 낮게 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 여러 연구에서 Jung 등[37], Lee 등[40], 과 Lee[41]의 연구에서 자기평가가 가장 높고, 문제해결이 가장 낮게 나타난 결과와 유사하였다.

대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 진로결정자기효능감의 경우, 학업성적과 간호학전공만족도에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였다. 학업성적에서 상위권이 하위권보다, 간호학전공만도에 대하여 만족하는 경우가 만족하지 않은 경우보다 진로결정자기효능감이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 Jung 등[37]의 연구에서 간호대학생을 대상으로 한 연구에서 학교성적과 전공만족도에 따라 유의한 차이를 보인것과 유사하였다.

후속연구

이들 선행연구들은 1차원적 인간관계만을 확인하였기 때문에 다른 변수들을 고려한것에 한계가 있었다. 그러나 매개효과를 확인하는 2차원적인 인과관계 연구로 직접적 효과가 가정된 연구에서 매개효과가 있는지 확인하고, 그 간접효과가 유의할 경우 특정 효과측면에서 다른 요인들을 고려해 볼 수 있으므로 더욱 확장된 연구가 가능하다. 진로관련자기효능감은 간호대학생들이 전공과 관련된 학업을 이수하는 과정과 관련되고 나아가 간호사로서 임상현장에 대한 적응력과 이직과 관련되는 중요한 개념이다.
따라서 전국의 간호대학생을 대상으로 한 보다 광범위한 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 본 연구를 기초로 진로결정자기효능감을 증가시킬 수 있는 진로교육 및 상담프로그램을 개발하는데 기초자료로 활용하고, 간호대학생의 감성지수, 회복탄력성이 반영되는 진로적성 프로그램의 개발을 제언한다.
