본 연구의 목적은 부모양육태도가 다문화 청소년의 학업중단의도에 미치는 영향과 그 관계에서 이중문화수용태도의 매개효과를 확인하는데 있다. 이를 위해 다문화청소년패널(MCAPS) 6차년도 자료 중 다문화청소년 1,323명을 분석대상자로 선정하였다. 분석방법은 주요변수의 기술통계, 상관분석, 구조방정식 등을 활용해 경로분석 모형을 검증하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 부모의 긍정적 양육태도와 이중문화수용태도가 학업중단의도를 감소시키는데 반해, 부정적 양육태도는 학업중단의도를 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 이중문화수용태도는 긍정적 양육태도와 학업중단의도 간의 관계에서 부분매개 효과를 갖는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 부정적 양육태도와 학업중단의도 간의 관계에서도 부분매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 다문화청소년의 이중문화수용태도를 높이고 학업중단의도를 예방할 수 있는 실천적 방안을 제시하였다.
