본 연구의 목적은 여대생의 주관적 체형 인식에 미치는 영향요인을 파악하는 것이다. 본 연구는 여대생 121명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/Win 23.0을 이용하여 피어슨 상관관계, 다중 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 여대생의 주관적 체형 인식에 영향을 미치는 요인은 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도, 신체만족도, 자아존중감, BMI으로 확인되었고 설명력은 56.0%이었다. 구체적으로 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도가 높을수록, 신체만족도가 낮을수록, 자아존중감이 낮을수록, BMI가 높을수록 여대생의 주관적 체형 인식은 부정적인 것으로 나타났다. 이중 외모에 대한 사회문화적 태도는 주관적 체형 인식에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로 설명되었다. 체형 인식을 긍정적으로 변화시키기 위해서는 자신의 체형을 있는 그대로 지각하고 실제 체형을 수용하여 자신의 체형에 대해 만족할 수 있는 구체적인 방법을 갖도록 도와주어야 한다. 또한 이상적 체형 기준을 강요하는 사회 분위기 개선이 필요하다.
