This research has investigated and analyzed a total of fourteen (14) corporates which are now practicing reading management in Korea, including Kyobo Book Center, Dongyang Mechatronics, Tongyang Life Insurance, Metabranding, Samsung SDS, Samsung Engineering, Seoulin Bioscience, AhnGook Pharm, Ahn Lab, Woolim E&C, E-land, Juno Hair, Hyundai Development Company, and Hyundai Oil Bank, to suggest the methods for activating reading management. The investigation and analysis has been conducted in terms of the following categories: ① corporate culture; ② management leader; ③ reading management process; ④ standards of book selection;⑤ book club; ⑥ management system; ⑦ incentive; ⑧ employee’s family participation program; and ⑨ key features. The methods for activating reading management in the life-long learning society are as follows: (1) Delivery monthly special lectures to provide motivation. (2) Develop 365 day-30 min reading activities. (3) Select the right level of books after measuring an individual’s reading ability. (4) Expand incentives in accordance with the results of reading management to encourage voluntary participation. (5) Enhance the corporate’s image by letting the employee’s family, partners, and local residents participate in the reading management events. (6) Carry out the reading correspondence education together with the reading management to yield a synergistic effect. (7) Establish a company reading university and run an academic credit bank system to boost the life-long learning culture. (8) Establish a company library to create a reading environment. (9) Publish the works, family newspapers, casebooks and the like to provide self-esteem. (10) Introduce a reading vacation system to raise the morale and form the basis of creativity. (11) Design a standard model of reading management suitable for each industry, corporate scale and official grade based on an academic-industrial-organizational study and provide the corporates with the standard model.
