The purpose of this study is to examine the level of job stress for 119 members of emergency caused by patients' violence while they have rescue effort and to suggest the effective ways to relieve the job stress of 119 members of emergency and to exterminate patients' violence. This study employs questionnaire to measure the level of patients' violence to 119 members of emergency and the level of job stress of 119 members of emergency who work in Daegu Metropolitan City. This study selects 300 emergency medical rescuers as the target of the questionnaire and employs the frequency analysis, t-test and ANOVA to analyze the data collected. According to the results of analysis, 119 members of emergency more often experience a variety of violences including physical, mental, verbal and sexual violences. Because of these violences, 119 members of emergency suffer from the serious level of job stress. Based on the analytical results, this study suggests the ways of reducing the job stress of 119 members of emergency and the patients' violence. Firstly, the fire defense organizations need to establish the effective management system that can control the level of rescuers' job stress. Secondly, the fire defense organizations should offer 119 members of emergency the various programs that rescuers can reduce and control their own job stress by listening to music and watching video for medical care and taking consultations from specialists. Thirdly, governments need to reinforce legal punishment to patients who fight against 119 members of emergency. Finally, the fire defense organizations need to hold campaigns to block violence with showing how serious and dangerous violence against 119 members of emergency is to citizens.
