본 연구는 고등학생의 연구실 이용에 따른 안전 인식과 교육에 대한 필요성을 조사하였다. 이를 위하여 서울 소재 3개 고등학교 2학년 재학생 290명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 정규 수업 전 안전교육은 64.8%가 경험한 것으로 나타났으며, 사고 경험 6.6%, 체험 교육 시 안전 교육 68.0%로 사전 안전교육이 부족한 것으로 나타났으며, 안전교육에 대한 인식도와 필요성은 높게 인식하고 있는 파악되었다. 특히, 연구실 사고 대처 방법에 관한 교육의 필요성을 안전 교육 경험 학생이 높게 나타나 연구실 안전 교육의 체계적인 관리 및 학생들의 안전 시 사고체계에 대한 다각적인 관리 방안 마련이 요구된다. 연구실 안전 인식과 교육 필요성 요인은 생활안전과 연구실 이용 안전교육 필요성과 상호 관련성이 높았고, 기기 및 실험 안전에 대한 필요성이 높을수록 연구실 이용 안전과 사고 대처 방법에 대한 인식도 높은 것으로 나타나 고등학생 대상의 연구실 안전 교육 프로그램 개발과 관리적 방안에 관한 연구를 제안한다.

Thus, a systematic management of laboratory safety education and multilateral management measures for students' safety are required. There is a relatively high correlation between safety intention of R&D and Education factors and Community and Laboratory Safety Education. As much as there is a high safety demand regarding the laboratory instruments and experiment, it shows high intention of safety lab operation as well as count measurement of lab accident. 본 연구는 고등학교 재학생을 대상으로 학교 안과 밖에서 일어나는 과학교육(실험 교육)의 안전에 대한 인식과 교육에 대한 필요성을 조사하고 안전 교육 경험에 미치는 영향을 파악고자 안전의식 함양과 고등학교의 안전 교육 관리 체계의 기초 자료로 활용하고자 시도되었다. ;이를 위하여 서울 소재 3개 고등학교 2학년 290명을 대상으로 설문 조사 후 통계 분석 하였으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 제시한다.
제안 방법
본 연구 수행을 위한 설문 문항은 고등학생들의 과학교육(실험) 시 안전 교육, 사고, 체험교육 경험 등을 포함한 일반적 문항, 안전에 대한 인식도, 안전 교육에 대한 필요성으로 구성되었다. 문항 구성은 김수윤(2006)의 연구 내용 중 고등학생들의 안전 인지도, 이미언(2009)은고등학생들의 안전사고에 대한 인식, 김대환(2003)은 안전사고에 대한 사례, 김은영(2009)은 안전교육에 대한 필요성의 연구 문항을 본 연구에 맞도록 수정 보완하였다[3][9][10][11].
대상 데이터
본 연구는 고등학생들을 대상으로 과학교육(실험 교육)의 안전에 대한 인식과 교육에 대한 필요성을 조사하고 안전 교육 경험에 미치는 영향을 파악하고자 서울 소재 3개 고등학교 2학년 자연계열 재학생 300명을 대상으로 2016년 1월 11일부터 29일까지 본 연구에 대한 목적 설명 후 자기기입식 설문 조사를 실시하였으며, 이중 불성실한 응답 및 무응답을 제외한 290명을 최종 분석대상으로 선정하였다.
데이터처리
본 연구의 통계처리를 위하여 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 사용하였으며, 고등학생들의 안전교육 및 사고 경험은 빈도분석, 고등학생들의 연구실 안전에 관한 인식도, 안전 교육 필요성은 요인분석과 신뢰도 분석을 사용하였고, 안전교육 경험, 사고 경험, 체험 교육 경험에 따른 연구실 안전 인식과 교육 필요성의 차이는 독립표본 t-test, 연구실 안전에 관한 인식도와 안전 교육 필요성 간의 상호 관련성은 상관관계분석을 이용하였다.
성능/효과
6%가 경험한 것으로 나타났으며, 화학물질, 용액 등 접촉 등의 사고 유형이 가장 높은 것으로 나타나 안전 교육에 대한 강화가 요구된다. 둘째, 고등학생들이 안전 교육 미경험자, 사고 미경험자, 체험 교육 경험자의 유해물질 및 기기사용 안전과 생활안전에 대한 인식도가 높았다. 셋째, 연구실 안전 인식과 교육 필요성 요인은 생활안전과 연구실 이용 안전에 대한 교육 필요성이 상호 관련성이 높았고, 기기 및 실험 안전에 대한 필요성이 높을수록 연구실 이용 안전과 사고 대처 방법에 대한 인식도 높은 것으로 나타나 실험 교육에 있어서 안전을 중요하게 인식하고 있는 것으로 파악되었다.

최근 체험 교육 등으로 인한 교외 활동의 증가와 학생들의 교과과정 외 학습 활동이 증가하고 있는 것으로 파악되고 있어 교내 안전뿐만 아니라 교외안전 사고에 대한 안전 교육 체계 확립도 중요하게 인식되고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 고등학생들의 교육과정, 특히 과학 관련 교과목의 실험에 대한 안전 교육은 매우 미비하며, 교육의 중요성과 인식도는 높지만 교육현장에서 수행되기까지는 많은 어려움이 있다.
