말기 암환자가 호소하는 신체적 고통에는 어떠한 것들이 있는가? | 말기에는 질병의 진행과정이 매우 다양하고 생리학적 특성이 복합적으로 작용하는데(2), 말기 암환자의 경우에는 통증과 식욕부진, 허약감, 변비, 안절부절, 호흡곤란, 구강건조 등의 신체적 고통을 호소하고 있는 것으로 보고하였다(3). 또한 무기력, 외로움, 소외감의 증가, 통제력 상실 및 죽음에 대한 두려움(4)뿐만 아니라 여명이 3개월 미만인 환자의 경우에는 우울증을 경험하거나 안락사를 요구하기도 하여(5) 정서적, 사회적, 영적으로도 고통을 받고 있는 것으로 나타났다. |
